Our schedule is a bit different today because we are lucky enough to have a guest speaker coming for Biology class during 2nd hour!
We will have one hour together still and will use the time to continue understanding the Cycle of Socialization through making a poster. You will also have time for this during class on Monday. The Cycle of Socialization!! We will be doing an activity to introduce us to this concept and to break down this cornerstone reading a bit more. It is our last day doing preloading of terminology to help us understand sociology before diving into more work around categories of identity and the cycle of socialization. We will wrap up by considering positive and negative ways we are socialized as well as agents of socialization.

Welcome to Animas! It is great to be able to welcome a new class to our school. This week is focused around team building and establishing an understanding of culture. Studying this will help us know how to create the type of community we want to be a part of here and help us all understand elements of who we are a little more deeply. It also will be useful content leading into our first semester project, Socialization and Identity. We will introduce this project in September when we all return from our time in Osprey Blocks. The slides for this week's content are linked here.
